Campus Access

Campus Access

Following updates to state and federal guidelines, all students, faculty, and staff are required to wear masks indoors in public areas and classrooms, irrespective of vaccine status.

All New York Tech community members must complete an online COVID-19 Health Screen questionnaire prior to arrival. You can access the Health Screen on the my.nyit.edu portal.

The Health Screen is a daily attestation and must be completed each day you plan to visit campus—preferably before leaving home to confirm you are approved for campus access. In addition to questions about your temperature, exposure, and other standard questions, the Health Screen will ask if you are fully vaccinated.

If you are not fully vaccinated, you must have a negative COVID-19 test dated within the previous seven days AND be able to produce it if asked by New York Tech security staff. (Note: You will not be able to upload your test result to the Health Screen app, so be prepared to provide other proof of your negative test result.) Security staff will be performing spot checks to ensure compliance. Also, please be prepared to show the approved Health Screen at campus entry, if requested.

  • Long Island campus: Please enter at Main Campus Road and be prepared to show your health screen at entry, if requested.
  • New York City campus: Please check in at 1855 Broadway to receive a security badge to gain access to all buildings on campus.

Remember to leave plenty of time to get through security, as delays may occur. If you experience any issues with the Health Screen, please alert the Office of Security on your campus:

  • Long Island: 516.686.7789
  • New York City: 646.273.7789

If you aren’t feeling well and are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please do not come to campus.

New York Tech is requiring all faculty, staff, and students at our New York campuses to be fully vaccinated by October 22, 2021. Individual exemptions due to medical or religious reasons will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Visit COVID-19 Vaccination Information for more details.

Those who have not yet received the COVID vaccine can make an appointment with the Academic Health Care Center to be vaccinated by calling 516.686.1300.
